Our Story
Jamestown School District was established in 1855. The district’s mission is to provide a healthy, safe, enriching, learning environment to help each and every child grow and achieve.
Jamestown School District serves approximately 330 students in Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade, and supports two school campuses. One site is Jamestown Elementary in the town of Jamestown, which is nestled in the foothills of California’s gold country. The other is Chinese Camp School, which is located in the middle of the Red Hills Habitat in Chinese Camp. Jamestown School takes pride in their highly trained and respected staff that provides quality instructional experiences for Jamestown’s students through a traditional Transitional Kindergarten-8th grade program, including a Spanish/English Dual Immersion Program currently providing instruction in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade. The district also offers a Science Academy, located at the Chinese Camp campus, with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), which serves students in grades 3-6.
The District has many wonderful programs and resources for our students and families. Our district operates a free After School Academy available to Kindergarten-5th students on both campuses as well as operates the Jamestown Family Resource Center, which provides guidance and support services for families in need. Additionally, the district partners with the Amador Tuolumne Community Action Agency to operate an Early Learning Center for children 18 months to three years of age.
