This is My Story
I am proud to be a long-time member of the Jamestown School District family! My journey in education began in 1993 right here at Jamestown Elementary School, where I served as a 6th to 8th-grade teacher for 21 years, coached volleyball, and was the director of student activities and leadership. In 2013, I received my Administrative Credential and went on to serve as principal for three years. Since 2017, I have been honored to serve as the Superintendent of Jamestown School District, fully committed to the success of our community.
I firmly believe in the power of working together as a united school community to provide rigorous academic instruction and a safe, respectful learning environment. My commitment extends to supporting social-emotional learning and fostering a positive school culture. During my tenure as principal, I played a key role in developing and implementing a school-wide Positive Behavioral Intervention Support system and advocating for Trauma-Informed Practices. One of our district’s current goals is to create a trauma-informed school system that emphasizes prevention and early intervention strategies, ensuring a supportive and nurturing environment for all.
I was born and raised in the small rice-farming town of Willows in Northern California. In 1989, I married my husband, Ed Pelfrey, who is currently the Superintendent of Sonora High School. We have three wonderful children, all of whom attended Jamestown Elementary School, and five beautiful grandchildren. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Chico, and my Administrative Credential from Stanislaus State University.
It is an honor to serve this incredible school community. I am excited about the future and the endless possibilities for our district to grow and thrive. Together, we will continue to build upon the educational mission and vision of Jamestown School District, ensuring success for all our students.
